Arroyo

I enjoy driving at night on the highway in LA, the interior ambient light, the headlights, and moonlight guide me home. I will pass mountain tunnels on the Arroyo Seco Parkway on the way home. In the tunnel, the whole interior space is illuminated with warmth and cozy lighting. When entering the tunnel, I am hugged and embraced by the light all sudden.

The Arroyo is inspired by this night driving experience. The body is made of a black transparent glass tube with sandblasting finish working as diffuser. When the light is turned on, the whole fixture glows. It provides both down-task lighting and unobtrusive ambient light for the space.
