Tianning Zhao was born in Shenyang, a city located at the crossroads of Northeast Asia. Growing up, he was shaped by the diverse cultures of China, Korea, and Japan. His curiosity about cultural diversity led him to pursue studies in the United States, where he earned a degree in industrial design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in furniture and lighting design from ArtCenter College of Design. After working as a designer for several years, Tianning launched his own studio in Los Angeles.

As culture and technology continue to evolve, so do our perceptions of what defines thoughtful design and meaningful experiences. To offer resonate design and timeless products, Tianning integrates material innovation, advanced fabrication methods, and emerging design techniques into his projects. Through this approach, he creates objects that are intuitive, harmonious, and sculptural, blending aesthetics with functionality.
